Indeed, I do. Because this is the main purpose of the tool.

Please start the tool in Software Rendering mode until we have release the next Beta later this week that has the automatic switch implemented. It seems your system does not support OpenGL 1.5 or higher and therefore you get a crash when you start to create a Diagram at the moment.

Once you have reverse engineered a schema via the Import function you can choose Model -> Create Diagram from Catalog Objects and then use the Arrange -> Autolayout function to get a basic arrangement of your schema(ta).

Then you can start to modify the objects, forward engineer a SQL script or generate a PDF for printing.

Non of these features is crippled or limited in any way.

So please correct me if I am wrong, but it seems you interpreted a bug for "crippled". If so, it would be nice if you would correct your Subject of the original post to reflect that - because you currently send a misleading message.
