Unlike the proprietary model, the open source model is empowering:
1) Download the software, look at the source, use it
2) Engage the community for recommendations/expereinces
3) Make your own conclusions
MySQL product roadmap is driven by MySQL customers/community. We choose to not spend time thinking about competiting vendors/products.
