I have MySql Workbench 5.2.16 beta on MacOSX (10.6.2 snow leopard). MySQL server is 5.1.44 community server running via local socket at /tmp/mysql.sock.
I can connect fine using the command-line mysql client as root with no password. When I try to connect using Workbench, I get this strange message "Unknown mysql server host '.' (1)". WTF is going on?
I think I have everything set correctly -- socket is specified as /tmp/mysql.sock, username is root, no password, etc...
Any ideas?
