Yes, but original confusion was why wouldn't the latest version of the Workbench be using the latest version of MySQL? Seems that when the MySQL was installed that it should have overridden the one used by the Workbench. Instead, the Workbench complained, which was good, but I didn't immediately know what it was asking me to do. When I finally figured it out, I fixed the problem and posted the resolution so that the issue would be closed and anyone else having this problem would see how I solved the problem.
