Re: Hard Drive Crash - But MySQL Files available
I just had s similar problem where I had to reinstall Vista but still had my old copy of the MySql files on another disk.
1) I installed the latest version of MySQL 5.1.32 (original version was 5.1.30).
2) Deleted the newly installed "data" directory
3) copied my old "data" directoy into the place where newly installed one was before I deleted it.
4) started MySQL
FYI I actually needed to get WAMP up and running again which included the MySQL install so WAMP did all the installation work for me.
