Large Dump to Import

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and I have a question for you (who have more experience with SQL tha n me). I'm importing a mysql DB on a linux server. This is a big DB (about 80-100GB). I'm having some problem because after some hours the import process aborts. Then I re-run the linux command for the mysql import and after some hours, again aborted. Have you ever been in a similar situation? There are some parametres of the mysql server that I should modify? For example something like "max_allowed_packets"? (now it is set on 16M).

And some of these parametres could make the import faster?

Thanks guys.
