Hi,
I think we did not handle MYSQL_TYPE_VARCHAR, somehow, but I see it handled in the current code. Unfortunately there is no newer version released than 1.0.5. launchpad.net has a mirror of our Bazaar repository. More can be seen here :

Can you try this? Not sure if launchpad requires registration to be able to pull code from it.
