Probably over a year ago, I installed whatever was the most recent version of MySQL at the time. After I was done learning, I ran the installer and removed the application. The installer was still there, so I used Revo Uninstaller to remove the installer. Now, I am doing more learning involving MySQL, so I downloaded the most recent installer (8.0.32) and ran into this error. I have tried searching for anything MySQL related and removing it (leaving LibreOffice-related things alone since I do have that installed), but it did not help. I was able to install 8.0.12 without issue, but nothing newer than that.
I read through the other thread you suggested and tried the Microsoft uninstall troubleshooter, but that could not remedy anything.
