Update rows in MySQL with data from filtered rows in Excel?

Requirement:

1. Use Excel filters while in edit mode of "Edit MySQL Data" function of MySQL for Excel.
2. Update existing rows in MySQL table with data from filtered rows only in Excel.

Tomfoolery:

1. Unprotect spreadsheet using VBScript script while still in edit mode of "Edit MySQL Data" function of MySQL for Excel.
2. Filter Excel worksheet, modify data in filtered rows.
3. Color of cells containing modified data doesn't change.
4. Cannot update MySQL table with data from filtered rows in unprotected spreadsheet.

Question:

Is there a way to update rows in a MySQL table with data from filtered rows in Excel using the "Edit MySQL Data" function of MySQL for Excel?
