Hi Jens,
It is a known limitation of MySQL for Excel.
All binary columns (varbinary, blob) are ignored by the add-in since they can hold whatever in them and Excel cells won't hold the contents, so it is a limitation as well in Excel.
A future version of MySQL for Excel may offer a way to visualize and edit binary data (similar to the way MySQL Workbench does) but without displaying the contents in Excel cells, since that is just impossible.
