Thanks Fred.

A call to rejoin the cluster using the provided methods did eventually work.

It might be subtle but the documentation seems to imply the opposite, specifically the "Note" section in https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/mysql-innodb-cluster-working-with-production-deployment.html

Might be worth adjusting this to reflect this nuance
