awesome ! I would never have gotten there in a million years alone.
There is a small bug using a non-root entrypoint as far as I can see though.
Use this test data:
entry: Root
zoom: 5
Results: UK, dallas, connecticut (correct)
entry: UK
zoom: 5
Results: UK, Scotland, England (wrong - should be just UK)
Mind you, who am I to complain... A solution in hours to a question that took me days to formulate.
Now knowing that this can be done, I would imagine it may well see quite some use. I will post it up on the unofficial Google Maps API wiki for all to enjoy (crediting you of course !)
