Ideal server setup for a LAN

Hello! I'm building a WPF/C# application that will be communicating with a MySQL database. Lots and lots of data will be moving between the application and database every second.
Can anyone recommend a good server setup that doesn't really need to worry about much else other than hosting a MySQL database and transferring/storing lots of data quickly?
