AWS Aurora is still at 5.6? I'd be looking for another provider.
Without the DDL, it's hard to make firm suggestions. Did you consider joining `offers` to a second alias off2 on its PK for the computations?
BTW a func can't issue a raw Select, it has to Select INTO vars.
