It's not getting that far. The query is crashing before it gets to write anything to the binlog. The last binlog entry in some cases is a couple of seconds eariler.
FYI, we have rolled back one of the DBs to 8.0.19, and it is not crashing anymore. I can't say what it does with 8.0.20, but it definitely crashes with 8.0.21 and 8.0.22.
I'm convinced this is a bug now.
Can we get you anything in terms of logs etc.?
