trying to alter table column to geometry but getting errors. please help.

I tried to alter the table to geometry but it requires a length, every one I tried resulted in an error...

When I don't put a length in there, I get this error:

#1170 - BLOB/TEXT column 'Longitude' used in key specification without a key length

what do I need to create it as?
