Thanks. I wasn't able to directly remove the file for some reason (appeared that was the error that was being thrown when MySQL tried to do it during startup). I ended up having to move all MySQL files to a second folder, rename each (old to MySQL_bak, new to MySQL) and then restarted. Luckily it worked and running without issue again.
Any thoughts on precautionary procedures? Moving forward, I'll likely be a little more diligent with stopping MySQL before undocking at a minimum.
