tcp/ip performance very slow

Hi, for some odd reason, mysql works as normal when connecting to localhost.

But If i try to connect to the same database using the internal lan ip of 192.168.0.1, every query takes 2 seconds+. I have the same problem if I connect using the machine's internet ip.

Other pcs connecting to this database machine also experince the problem, in effect, the db is unusable unless I connect using localhost.

I'm using mysql 4.1.10-nt on Windows XP pc using the dot net connector 1.0.4, however, the same problem exists using the mysql.exe and mysql-front.

Anyone have any idea?

(On a second note: apache is also very slow when I connect using 192.168.0.1, maybe there's a connection?)
