Re: CREATE INDEX is very slow

I did DROP the index and it took 00:19:47.65 minutes. Then I did shut down the server, defragmented my hard drive, re-started the server and recreated the index which took 00:21:09.06 minutes. This process took most of the memory on the machine which at the starting point there were 370MB available and during peak times only 8MB were available.

My next step is to remove the PRIMARY KEY, and DROP all indexes. Then I'll recreate the single INDEX to see if this approach makes a difference.
