300-400mb would often be for a toy db and app.

In any case it's an elementary design error to decide how much ram there'll be before the db or the app has been developed.

Rather than try to guess what will happen, you need to create the db, populate the tables, write all the required queries, then give them to enough user bots to emulate the actual load the app and its db will face.
