Secure Communication between mysqld and ndb

Dear All,

Our setup for at the moment consists of two boxes one (mysqld) inside a dmz and one in a private zone (ndb storage clusters), both are linux boxes.

I am currently considering the communication between the mysqld and the ndb storage as one machine is in the dmz I am concerned that the data will be sent unencrypted, is this the case?

If it is, would it be appropriate to wrap the communication by using a secure protocol such as stunnel.

Has anyone done this or any ideas on how to implement it.

Thank you for your help

Mat
