Re: High CPU Usage with ndbd in VMWare
I went ahead and updated the data nodes to run ndbmtd while adding an additional CPU to each data node. Right after the update and once the management and data node processes were restarted (the ndbd/ndbmtd process takes at least 20 minutes to fully initialize, with a state of "starting" in the management client), I was seeing evidence that each of the cores was being utilized and CPU usage had improved (slightly). I set MaxNoOfExecutionThreads=2 in config.ini since I have 2 CPUs available on each VM.
Now, after the long weekend I'm seeing that ndbmtd is hanging on to only 1 CPU on each data node and it's maxing the CPU out at 99-100%. I'm lost on what could be causing this.
