Replication over 124Kbit with 1-2 sec latency

We have developed an asp.net application. The intention was to run the application on one server, accessed with a browser from anywhere. The application is now being used over 124kbit lines with a latency of 1-2 seconds. The resulting response times are very long.
We are investigating alternative solutions to reduce response times, and multiple web servers and database replication is one of the hottest.
The application supports global co-operation. It is therefore mandatory that all updates can be performed from any location.
What would be the best way to implement replication with this scenario ? , all tables has to be available for read and update from any application server.
Is there any tools to support own software that prohibits resource conflicts (same record) in a "multi master" environment. (our application is developed with visual studio)
I would be thankful for any advice leading us to a sound and reliable solution.!!
