creating mysql master and slave server

Hey friends,

Can anybody guide me how to make master and slave mysql database servers on the same platform and on different platforms.LIke Mysql master and slave are both on Linux in other case mysql master on linux and slave on windws and vice versa.

Any guidance or tutorials will be very helpful.
