Replication error/warning from 5.5 to 5.6

I setup replication from 5.5.36 to 5.6.37 via dump/restore of data. The replication seems to work fine, however seeing the following messages in the log.

2018-04-28 23:21:13 25902 [Note] Slave: received end packet from server due to dump thread being killed on master. Dump threads are killed for example during master shutdown, explicitly by a user, or when the master receives a binlog send request from a duplicate server UUID <9793d3c4-44f4-11e8-9f2b-00057876630e> : Error
2018-04-28 23:21:13 25902 [Note] Slave I/O thread: Failed reading log event, reconnecting to retry, log 'phx1mdb1-bin.288516' at position 27021615

The Exec master log pos keeps moving, but also the Seconds behind master is growing. May be it's throwing away the transactions?

Also, on it's master, show slave hosts, does not list this host, or it just appears and disappears right away. Every slave has different UUID on 5.6. The 5.5 did not have UUID feature. The server-ids are certainly different.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
