Re: Health check and failover

How do I check if MySQL is running healthily and responding from a different node? I can not define a default user name with default password which would be a security hole. I do not have enough time to implement an agent and ensure the agent will be running all the time. How about if I use httpd as an agent and issue a PHP query to check if MySQL running fine locally? Any suggestions?

Thanks!
