Re: Why does mysqldump not add a drop database?
I had the same problem as Peter Hamilton.
In fact, it's only when I try a single Database backup that the "DROP DATABASE IF EXISTS" does not appear in the output sql file. But when I use the option "--all-databases", the "Drop database ..." statement is right there before each create statement.
Also, when I use --database DB1 DB2 DB3 ... the "drop databse" is right there in the sql outputfile.
So I wonder why does a single database bakup is not producing the "drop database" statement ?
MySQL version : 5.0.16/Win32
