Hide data from DBA

Hi all,

Here is a quick description of what I am trying to do.
We are planning to deliver a turnkey application solution to a customer. Application is using MySql for data storage. Customer is going to maintain MySql instance but I want to be able to prevent them from seeing data.
One way of doing so would be to encrypt sensitive data, but I want to know if there is a more elegant approach.

Thanks

Alex Petetsky
