Sharing database with other developers

Hi All,
I'm a student and we have a group that is working on a project together. The project is in java and we are connecting to a mysql database. The question is we are not all at the same location or on the same network. How can we share one database over the internet hosted on one of our own pc? We are all using Sun JSE 8 for dev.
