Data_free column 0 after importing from 5.5 into 5.7 and 8.0

Hello,

I recently upgraded some databases by exporting from MySQL 5.5.61 using mysqldump, and importing some databases into a new instance of MySQL 5.7.24 and others into a new instance of MySQL 8.0.19. The new 5.7 and 8.0 instances have been running for a few months, but the Data_free column returned by the "show table status" command returns 0 for all InnoDB tables for both 5.7.24 and 8.0.19 instances.
In the past, when upgrading databases by exporting from older instance and importing into new instance, I had never encountered this problem.

How I can fix this so Data_free would show the amount of InnoDB datafile space remaining?
