6.0 was never a GA release, was removed ten years ago, should never have been used in a production environment.

Many incompatibilities have accumulated since its time more than a decade ago, for a list with links see https://www.artfulsoftware.com/infotree/mysql_incompat.html.

To see what specifically is slowing down your code, we'll need to see the my.cnf in use before the upgrade to 8.0, the my.cnf in use for the 8.0 installation, and the sql that now runs slower.
