I have been following (and using) the connector since before it was purchased by MySQL, and it has been planned for a while. I'm not sure there is a true time table for implementation but I would LOVE to see it happen myself. I also thought there was a plan at one time to also be able to use the connector to add your MySQL Server to the Server Connections Tab of Visual Studio, and that would be a great feature as well.
