Thank you Peter. I apologize for not clarifying in advance my understanding of the general rules that govern the usage of table c but am thankful for your answer.

Additionally, however, in order to maintain the updating of table c do I simply complete the insert on the events table (the registrant Id is already confirmed for the event to insert the new record) and upon a successful insert, retrieve the new autoincremented ID and THEN perform an additional insert to table c?

I assumed that was the method but wasn't sure if it was that "manual" or if I should use a stored procedure/trigger
