MySQL doesn't take anything to any directory. What are you referring to?

"IP address 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' could not be resolved: No such host is known" may be seen on multiple successive connection errors. The good news is that the attempts failed. You will want to track down how those connection requests made it to MySQL. Russian & Chinese hack attempts are all too common. Is there a PHP connection script on the web server?

But are they allowed? You may want to set skip-name-resolve on.
