Big Fish Games is leading publisher and developer of downloadable casual games looking for a MySQL DBA to join our team. We are looking for a special someone interested in working with a growing group of smart and dedicated people, to make Big Fish Games the #1 casual gaming destination.
The ideal candidate is a mid to senior level DBA who lives, eats, and breathes databases. You should be able to do database and host OS tuning in your sleep, and be able to intelligently discuss database design and architecture as well as advise senior management on database related issues.
Requirements
• Minimum of six years of DBA experience with MySQL in an operational environment supporting internet facing sites.
• Must understand high availability issues as they relate to databases.
• Scripting background (perl, python, php)
• Experience tuning and optimizing a Linux (SuSE) database platform.
• iSCSI/SAN experience a plus.
• Data Warehouse experience a plus.
Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain all production MySQL databases.
• Advise developers on database structures and evaluate new design proposals.
• Advise VP of Information Technology on database issues.
• Provide scaling and capacity planning.
