If you upgrade to 5.0.10, you'll find that there's a new SHOW TRIGGERS command and a new TRIGGERS table in the INFORMATION_SCHEMA database.

mysqldump will dump trigger info beginning with 5.0.11 (the patch has already been checked in, but it wasn't in time for 5.0.10). For now, you can either compile from source, or you can back up triggers by selecting the appropriate columns from INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TRIGGERS.
