Sorry, yes I see that now, this does in some part help the situation but I still think this isn't a great solution because it puts the onus on the user to do the debugging. If your controlling the call and handling of the error in your application then this might be OK.

I'm not trying to find fault with you code but rather I'm trying to highlight to MySQL that we need more control over the error messages.
