Thank you Peter and Irek,

I copied the sample trigger syntax from http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/create-trigger.html

Created the sample tables and tried to create the trigger.
It behaves just like it can't get a lock.

Thanks for the tips. Will head in that direction.

FYI, I just finished an upgrade of PHP, MySQL and Apache on this Dev server. Still testing.
