I hope that MySQL will allow for a link like this. But in another forum another problem while importing TEXTs from MSSQL to MySQL has been described. Actually it is not a import problem here but a problem with the use some other functionality (a "trigger" or "write back" functionality) of another import tool.

The (my) conclusion here is that a MS SQL TEXT-type is much less "accessible" than the MySQL TEXT type. It it not a solution to your problem but you could skim the discussion here, to get some idea of the nature of the problem.
