Partition returned CORRUPT error

Dear Folks,
From the application,foll critical error reported by the user

error : Partition p530 returned error

error : Corrupt

Findings:
No errors from the database error.log
Current mysql version: 5.1.32
table of size 1.2G contains 800 partitions ALL SITS on ARCHIVE ENGINE.
database sits on Linux box with enough memory/hardware.

The current status is OK
