How are the sources of the manuals managed?
A split into different manuals should be done only, if there are too many differences between the different versions. Otherwise, keeping older manual versions up to date, that means to propagate newly discovered errors, back to all affected manual versions.
For me, it would be prefereable to keep the versions together, but to redesign the layout to have clear marker for topics relevant for certain versions. Even more important to me, would be to have clear markers for different SQL-Standards.
