Background:

The MySQL Workbench and MySQLDB was working and I have 116 Tables and completed ER Diagrams. This was on Monterey Version 12.4. I called Apple and opened a ticket because I could not reach files such as .local and grayed out files and was told I had to upgrade the O/S that there was a bug in O/S 12.4
Before the upgrade everything was working.

Workbench indicates there is a local instance 3306 with localhost3306.

I believe MySQL was installed and is in a share mode on the MacBook Pro M1 MAX with macOS Monterey Version 12.5

I checked the activity monitor for CPU, Memory, Energy, Disk and Network. No Activity.

When I click on the The Setup Connection is 127.0.01. When I try to Test Connection the system requires the root user password. I enter the password for root. The system responds with a screen to enter the password [This is a loop]

When I try to Configure Local Management under Test DB Connection I receive the following error message:

"Could not connect to MySQL server:
Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
You may continue if the server is simply not running."

In Testing Host Machine Settings I receive an error message:

"Error: File/etc/my.cnf doesn't exist. Message Log:
Check if /etc/my.cnf can be accessed
Operation failed: File /etc/my.cnf doesn't exist.

Under Review Remote Management Settings (No One Will be Using Remote)

MySQL Configuration
MySQL Version: 8.0
Settings Template: macOS (MySQL Package)
Path to Configuration File: /etc/my.cnf
Instance Name in Configuration File: mysqld

Commands for MySQL Management
Start MySQL: launchctl load -F /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.oracle.oss.mysql.mysqld.plist
Stop MySQL: launchctl unload -F /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.oracle.oss.mysql.mysqld.plist
Use sudo: Yes

At this point. Would it be best that I delete all instances of MySQL and download another .dmg and start from scratch? Could there be multiple instances of SQLdb running?

Hope I answered your question ... if not let me know.

I have spent an entire two weeks on this issue. I can't move forward on this project since Python 10.5, and Django has the initial def table models coded.I need to complete migration but simply can't.

Appreciate your help.
