Peter - you have saved my sanity! When I came back today to start taking the server offline to do a bare metal restore - I thought to check just once more - and viola! the MySQL service has restarted itself and is happily ingesting weather data once more.

So now instead of running a restore I'm about to do a disaster recovery image backup to separate media in addition to the one stored on the server's backup array. (Belt and suspenders this time!)

I can't thak you enough , man!
