On append, skip rows which are filtered out in Excel?

I just appended a number of rows to a table using the MySQL for Excel plugin.

I used a defined table in Excel as the input. I had filtered the table to show only the rows that should be appended.

I was surprised to learn that upon completion, the rows which were visually filtered out had actually also been inserted, without any notification (expect the higher number of rows mentioned in the logging ).

Any help on how to work with filtered rows like this, is appreciated.
