Edit SQL Statement When Importing MySQL Data

Can the SQL statement used to Import MySQL Data into Excel be edited?
I would like to use a SQL statement joining a few different tables and using where and group by clauses.
I have been able to see where the SQL statement can be modified for exporting data from Excel to MySQL, but not from MySQL to Excel.

I am using MySQL for Excel v1.3.6 with Excel 2013 on Windows 7 Professional workstation. The MySQL server is running 5.6.28.
