Re: Local vs. remote performance C-API
Something else:
1. The server OS is Windows 2000 Server/Pro but I have also tried Linux SuSe 9.2.
2. The server hardware (CPU, memory, SCSI/IDE) does not seem to really impact performance. I have tried from P-II-266 with 256MB up to P-IV 2Ghz 2GB. Performance difference was neglectable although the hardware resources should really reflect a huge difference.
3. Several simultaneous clients running the same application connecting to the same remote database server hardly degrade the (poor) performance. Basically, their requests are nearly processed as if the were the only client connected.
I am starting to get really desperate for some hint on where to look.
Any help is REALLY appreciated!
