Re: slave downloads server-relay-logs until hard drive fills and crashes server

Hi,

There is a setting called relay_log_space_limit which can specify the total amount of space that replication can use for storing relay logs. If it reaches the limit than the IO_THREAD will wait for the SQL_THREAD to catch up and delete the relay logs.

Normally it isn't too important as the SQL_THREAD cleans up after it has used the logs. Is there any reason that your slave is getting so far behind? That sounds like an unusual situation.
