Dear Rick,
Your index explanation is really good and gives me a clear understanding now. I did not know that order by should also be index is it index with the where filds or make it a separate index is better? When do we need to index together and when to make it separate? If in where we have 2 fields to look say a and b if we index(a,b) or index(b,a) is there any difference? How about the problem with partition what are your idea to achieve the purging?
