I always tell people, if the attacker has physical access to the computer hosting the data, there is no way to prevent them from getting anything they want.
For example, they literally could remove the hard disk and take it away somewhere, and crack the encryption at their leisure. They can probably crack DES encryption in less than a day if they are motivated enough.
