Hi Reggie,

I have exactly the same problem as Ashish. I installed MySql 4.1.5gamma and Connector/Net 1.0, and get the same message: "Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client".

I too am very sure about the validity of my connection string to an existing large mysql database (which I can view and manipulate with the MySqlAB MySql Client). It seems that Connector/Net 1.0 can't quite handle MySql 4.1.5. :-((

Looks like I may have to downgrade Mysql to ?4.1.1?. Bummer. Would appreciate your comments. Thanks.
